Martin Settle’s Book Launch

Join us for the official book launch of 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘐𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦 on September 28th @ 2:00pm inside the Utopia Event Center. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

In Martin Settle’s words:

“I was over the moon to learn that it will be held in the same building as our family’s former restaurant, the Plaza, as it plays a prominent role in my book. And it was a surprising bonus that the release of my book falls during Quincy’s Bi-centennial. It couldn’t have been scripted any better.

My memoir recounts my family’s legacy in Quincy through generations of bootleggers, bartenders, and restaurant owners, my experiences with a Catholic education from grade school through Quincy College, and what it was like growing up in Quincy during the hippie and civil rights eras. An important aspect of my memoir is the role of “place” in our lives, and what we lose when we leave home never to return. While I may call the 1950s and 60s “halcyon days,” I am quite aware that aspects of our past can be made prettier with the patina of time, and I take time in my memoir to look backward 𝘢𝘯𝘥 forward.

This is more than a celebration of 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘐𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦; it is a chance to celebrate the Quincy of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. So, please bring your own stories; there will be plenty of time to share.”
